Cycling in Sydney Australia
After 3 weeks of continuously sitting on my butt studying for exams, it's time to lose some weight before the grad ball.
On Thursday, I rode from Greenwich (home) to Mascot (mum's), via the Harbour Bridge and through the city on the nice cycleways :)
Friday was the return journey, riding from Mascot to Central Station, then caught the train to St Leonards back home.
Planning on seeing mum again tonight, so am looking forward to crossing the harbour bridge in the night time :)
Comment by Neil Alexander on September 29, 2012 at 6:24pm Is that a picture of one of the "nice cycleways"? ;-)
Comment by Helen Leung on September 29, 2012 at 9:51pm hahaha actually I when I posted the pic on my facebook, I called it the "stairs of doom". They're not so bad going up, but going down is a hassle when one has a heavy bike!
Comment by Neil Alexander on September 30, 2012 at 12:30pm Going down shouldn't be a hassle.
Either walk down with gentle application of front brake only -- rear brake will lock wheel and may make bike slide uncontrollably.
Or, if feeling confident, ride down the ramps (very carefully, of course, when people are pushing bikes up) with your weight transferred behind saddle, using both brakes.
