If you think Magpies are a menace, have a look at this.


I came home last week to find blue my knicks had been shredded while drying on the line. Completely dumbfounded by this I asked around until my riding buddy Nick suggested they'd probabably become birdfood. I'm guessing these birds are building one very well padded nest.

Are you accusing magpies? I suspect bower birds.

They collect blue stuff.

Yes, a good chance it was a bower bird. I never thought they'd peruse 3rd storey appartments in Newtown.

Whilst bower bird do tend to collect blue things I have not heard of any that occour anywhere Newtown. They do have wings of course so can move around a bit.

Another culprit could be rats (or even a possum), which have a habit of chewing on things, plenty of them in Newtown.
