So in our house I do night shift with the kids and DamianM usually does the early morning shift. Lately it's been good because he can catch up on any TdF footage that he'd been too tired for the night before. This morning I got up to see the three of them watching last night's stage and really talking about it, it's not the first time so I didn't think too much of it - Dad was explaining to Miles what was happening with the breakaway and who was in the peloton etc and Miles was lamenting that Cavendish wasn't going to win - I was a little stunned that a nearly 4 year old was taking this much interest but just thought he was just enjoying the time with his dad.

Next thing I know Miles has grabbed his scooter (bike was ejected from the house last week) and he's racing around the house commentating his own bike race where he is Cavendish and is clearly winning every race stage. Then he starts throwing in that he's wearing the Green Jersey and random race facts that he's picked up from his dad, I realise he's taking all of it in.

It was super cute and really provided some laughs for us this morning - we may have a future Tour contender in the house, although he seems more interested in the green than the yellow. :)

The kids in my cool new Rocket Fuel hats (thanks Susan!!) - Tilly has been insisting that the one she is wearing is hers and is not relinquishing it to mum no matter what!

Cancellara is winning this morning - he beat Lance, although sometimes he comes second. Boonan is racing too apparently. oh, and they crash a lot, but they only hurt themselves a little bit, they're ok :)

I think such a story is awesome, why dont you write to sbs and let them know how the broadcast has been a family affair. It would be more appealing to them I am sure. You see you just dont get that with a bunch of blokes in white. No colour fun for the kids.....yes am still wishing sbs did not give out to the ashes on sbs one.

Don't knock the Ashes, Al. At least that is something Aussies can win. And Kat getting a century. Priceless!

I had resolved to stop posting in this thread - after all, children are only really cute to their parents..... However this morning Miles outdid himself, he snuck his bike back in to the house and filled up his 'jersey' with water bottles from the team car to take to his 'friends' in the peloton. What a good little domestique :)
