Thanks Pat. If you're really serious about cycling you may prefer the longer trips that UTracks organise in Holland and other parts of Europe - both guided and self-guided. But this was a great introduction to the Netherlands.

Anyone who lives in Haarlem is lucky, Martyn. Especially if they like cycling - there are great rides out into the Dutch dunes very near there.

Certainly chully, Neil, but NZ is pointier. Old Zeeland is also in the Netherlands of course, and has some of the best cycling in the country.

Cycling around on a holiday is wonderful!

Can you add a picture of what sort of bike Paris, the 7 yo rode ?

Paris is at the front of the peloton in the picture of everyone in a line, but you can't see his bike too well. From what I recall it's just a smaller version of the sit-up-and-beg Dutch bikes that everybody else is riding.
