Cycling in Sydney Australia
It's no great athletic challenge, but I do recommend this as a great way to see the world's best cycle touring country. http://richardtulloch.wordpress.com/2012/09/23/holland-by-bike-and-...
Comment by Pat The Rat on September 24, 2012 at 4:58pm As always a great blog post Richard. Makes me want to do one of these trips
Comment by Richard Tulloch on September 24, 2012 at 5:15pm Thanks Pat. If you're really serious about cycling you may prefer the longer trips that UTracks organise in Holland and other parts of Europe - both guided and self-guided. But this was a great introduction to the Netherlands.
Comment by Martyn P on September 24, 2012 at 5:45pm Great write up and great pictures. My sister lives in Haarlem and agreed its a lovely town.
Comment by Richard Tulloch on September 24, 2012 at 6:06pm Anyone who lives in Haarlem is lucky, Martyn. Especially if they like cycling - there are great rides out into the Dutch dunes very near there.
Comment by Neil Alexander on September 28, 2012 at 2:51pm Looks like Noo Zilland.
A but chully.
Comment by Richard Tulloch on September 28, 2012 at 2:55pm Certainly chully, Neil, but NZ is pointier. Old Zeeland is also in the Netherlands of course, and has some of the best cycling in the country.
Comment by PeterT on October 11, 2012 at 10:27am Cycling around on a holiday is wonderful!
Can you add a picture of what sort of bike Paris, the 7 yo rode ?
Comment by Richard Tulloch on October 11, 2012 at 10:36am Paris is at the front of the peloton in the picture of everyone in a line, but you can't see his bike too well. From what I recall it's just a smaller version of the sit-up-and-beg Dutch bikes that everybody else is riding.
Comment by PeterT on October 11, 2012 at 10:45am I see it now. I see you got him doing the pace making already.
