Rode past a cyclist this morning who was riding on the footpath.

On his bike he had a sticker.

One less car.

Alanis would be proud ;)

Except that unlike anything mentioned in Alanis' song, that is actually ironic! ;)

I don't get it, what is your point exactly ?

I happen to ride on the footpaths in parts of my cycling commute. - and on those days the road sees 1 less car.

And you do know that 'no riding on footpaths' is not an Australia-wide rule right ?

As someone who ducks onto the footpath on a few places on my commute too, I think you are taking it a little too seriously, Peter. :)

@PeterT

I just found the sticker and his illegal riding incongruous. When he doesn't ride his bike I imagine him driving his car on the footpath. It gave me a chuckle on my morning commute. No higher meaning.

OT: Could someone in the field (of sticker making) create a stick that say 1000 less cars. Then we can stick these on the trains.

Perhaps they could even make it grammatical and say "fewer" rather than "less". :-)

gramatical, schematical, as long as I has my car.

@Jay : I don't have the sticker nor would I stick it on. It's too radical for me as cars do serve a distinct purpose, but I do ride on the footpaths whenever I feel that it might help mitigate the risk of cycling. Or when I just want to coast along at some crawling speed.

@Rob : "A little too seriously" is my middle name.... ;)

I'd like to slap one of these stickers on a freshly crashed car, but I wouldn't be able to run away fast enuff and a bike would be just bad publicity.
