Hey There
I took part in the Loop the Lake ride today. Absolutely fantastic. Loads of cyclists out on the road and a real sense of camerarderie. Raised a few questions too...
Has anyone else experienced issues with Shimano 105 derailleurs on new bikes ie, is it cable stretch that causes the chain to dance across the rear cassette or is there something about this model derailluer?
If anyone has completed the Gong Ride and Loop the Lake, which is harder. I got talking to some guys today who felt Loop the Lake was more difficult. They may have a point, though I’m not sure. For me, the Gong Ride is a fairly steady run out to the Royal National Park, where you’re hit with all the big hills in one go, before descending into the Gong. I feel the hills on the Loop the Lake are not as aggressive but there are more of them and more frequently. Total climbs for the Gong Ride amount to 1,145m; and Loop the Lake 817m. What do you think?
Cheers
Si
