Headed out on a cold Wednesday morning after school drop off.
Parked at Terry Hills and took my beautiful Pinarello Prince for a ride to Akuna Bay. Took photos down near the water. It was like glass. The boats looked inviting for a sail and cruise. Continued up the long but steady hill to West Head turn off. What awaited me was a rollercoaster of hills for 12km (Total ride 50km) to the point where the view is majestic and euphoric , I call it God's earth from heaven. Took some pictures of the view towards Palm Beach and Brooklyn. Not long a bus full of Nannas arrived to see the gorgeous view. I took photos of Nannas, some even looked at my bike, and I thought one was going to take off with it. She looked strong. The climb out of West Head was relentless, I was getting tired by then but kept going. I turned off to McCarrs Creek Road as at this point it was raining hard.
Had a great time and will do it again next Wednesday

I was there on Sat morning and regretted not stopping for a photo - such a beautiful spot. West Head never seems to get easier though - those last two hills are killers but the view is rewarding and so is some food and water:)

Hi Naomi, I love those rides, tomorrow I am going to Bobbin Head, and I always take photos when I go on my own as I find it relaxing. I don't on weekends because I am often riding much faster with other people.

I went to Brooklyn the other day. The new road surface on the old Pac Highway makes the descent much easier. On the way back up to Pie in the Sky, I couldnt handle the attacks (i.e. I was the lantern rouge), but "got into a rhythm" as Phil and co say in the TdeF and enjoyed the pain. Pity the blessed RTA couldnt continue the shoulder for the last couple of hundred metres, just when you need it.

Good to read that the road surface is good. May go next weekend. Have not done the old Pacific Hwy for a while.
