This is a fabulous supported or independent bike tour, if you can afford it. Not cheap, but great countryside, quiet roads, brilliant accommodation and craic in the pubs every night. Read more of what I wrote about it on:
Ten years ago I rode the Connemara & it was brilliant! Only a couple of issues - Good Friday in Galway City & I couldn't get a beer, who woulda thunk it?! Secondly it rarely stopped drizzling (April, I know...) and on west coast, at Clifden (?) it was wild ... but gorgeous.
Oh yes, Matt, let's not talk about the Connemara weather - we were pretty lucky though. But I have to say it was 30 years since I was last in Connemara, and it's still pretty untouched - unlike other parts of the West Coast which have been rather unpleasantly modernised with unsightly apartments. Loved to death, they are. But thanks for the comment - appreciate it.
