Well I have been riding reasonably consistently now for 6 months.... and here is where i am up to

Weight Loss (with diet) 35kg

Commute time to work now down to 17 min (riding time) was 20min

Sunday ride up to 70km now.. ave spd for today 25.6 km/h with a head wind.... previous best for approx same distance (66km) 22.3 KM/h

I am feeling so much stronger...especially on the hills.... can now ave around 18-20km up the hills around here now... previously was 10-12....

Wonder where to from here.. join a club may be ? wonder what others think of this?

Fantastic. Just checked out your before and after photos on your member page. You look like a different bloke now.

I'm about 4 months into a return to cycling after a similar period away. My goal is to lose 15 kg. 5 kg is gone and rest will follow when the diet gets sorted. Just enjoying the cycling at the moment. Did the 'Tour de Hills' (l00 km) last week and 'Loop the Lake' (85 km) yesterday. Now back to commuting for a while. Life on a bike is good.

Keep up the great work Richard. How much more are you aiming to lose?

Aim to lose about 5+ more kg... and yes am starting to develop a "loose skin' problem especially around the waist and the butt... have been told as I wasn't morbidly obese (meaning extreme skin stretch) there is a good chance over time it will tighten up

35Kg in 6 months. Congratulations. Let me also reiterate what Boxhead has said about your before and after pictures. You look completely different. You could be an exceptional poster boy for cycle commuting.

Yes I did, low carb, + protein.... reduced calorie intake...+ exercise = result u see

When you say "low carb" - how low and any particular carbs? I guess I am looking for some simple guidelines to stick to as my recent fetish for gummy sweets (you know like jelly babies, snakes, false teeth and milk bottles) has resulted in an urgent need to trim down.
