I spent some time tonight putting together my team for Tony's Fantasy TdF league and got to thinking about what I think is going to happen this year.

It's a bit of a wildcard tour, last years winner is on a new team without Bjarne's rat cunning. The obvious favourites are on Astana, but that just looks like a team ready to explode. If the management don't do it first, then will Contador get held back carrying water for Lance ? We all know Levi doesn't have the killer instinct.

As much as I'm suspicious, I can't help but think the Schlecks are going to be the ones to look out for. Andy was obviously promised something for playing domestique to Carlos last year, which would explain Sastre's exit from the team. I reckon there will be no stopping Andy this year, with Frank to soften up the competition. Saxo also have the amazing team with Stuey, Fabian and Jens to beat the living crap out of everyone.

As much as I'd love to see Cadel do it, I just don't think it's going to happen. Silence couldn't organise a GC team if their lives depended on it.

What I'd like to see happen though is Garmin to clean the floor with the lot of them. Here's hoping (somehow I doubt it, but expect to see a few brave performances and a couple of stages).

That's my predictions, anyone else got any ?

I'm hoping for an Andy Schleck win and as it's Jen's last tour am hoping that they let him ride first onto the Champs de Elysee as they did when Ekimov retired.

Am expecting Cavendish to show he is the fastest man in all the sprint stages and would like to see some epic battles on the climbs and not just wheel sucking as Dennis Menchov did for the Giro (that was one of the least classy rides for win I have ever seen he never attacked! not even once).

I'm also expecting all the Australian media to be talking about Cadel and Lance and to not bother mention the other 196 riders that are also in the race.

Oh and Thomas Voeckler will attack as much as he can and Phil and Paul will mention his hanging onto the yellow jersey with sheer will and determination a few years back every time he attacks.

Not sure,

I hope Cadel finally taking some time off to prepare for this year does wonders for him but the competition just seems so much tougher this year.

Yup Yup yup... Cavendish.

Michael Rogers will talk himself up before getting smoked.

Ivan Basso will be interesting to watch

And i do believe that Phil will say "Popovich has popped" at least 18 times.

Don't think there's too much doubt about Cav, he's gonna clean up

Someone from Astana will win.

Perhaps it will be Lance

Either that or Lance will duke it out in the mountains with his rivals until they all get to breaking point. Then the ever so patient Contador will wait for the right moment, make his move and smoke everyone.
