Cycling in Sydney Australia
Wollongong weekend.
Just got back from my mum & daughter weekend in Wollongong, first time I have ever visited it. In spite of the inclement weather, we managed to pack in a slow, two hour ride north, towards Ocean Park. What a lovely ride- all next to the sea and the beaches, all on bike paths, so safe for the family. I would like to return in summer and dive in for a swim somewhere along the route too! Cliff bride and the buid up to it is breathtaking, so I reckon I'm finally going to enter the Sydney to Gong this year- I'll just have to ride Galston gorge a bit more, to prepare for that 'nice' climb up Rawson Road...the views, however, will make the pain worth it!
What's also really handy is the 'Gong Shuttle' a free bus service every 20 minutes in both directions, which takes you all around the centre of Wollongong. I don't know of any such initiative in Sydney, apart from Paramatta...sure could do with more of this kind of service.

That looks awesome.
I'm planning a trip down Gong end of the month , before heading up to Kangaroo Valley and those pictures are nice. Hoping to find more scenic, road bike friendly routes

There is also another off-road cycleway in the south that runs around the north and east side of the lake. About 25km length is my guess.

Thanks for the info. Tony. I saw that one on one of the maps I got, but the weather was really inclement, so I decided not to head South. I'll be sure to explore it next time I go- in warmer weather!
