G'day Leigh,

Having any joy on a BNSW replacement?

Sounds like you had a good trip.

Thanks Leigh. NCM will be discussing BNSW membership tomorrow night, so I'll see what happens there too!

I know, but if we did it Saturday night we'd only see the second earliest sunrise of the year.

G'day Leigh. I've been a bit side tracked. All being well I hope to follow it up in the new year. At the last meeting of NCM we discussed membership requirements and consequently NCM will also be reviewing them too as there are a number of people who have indicated that they will not be renewing with BNSW but they wish to remain as NCM members..

Thanks Leigh.
Unfortunately there was some drama after you guys left us...After the midnight fireworks, the louts that were hanging around up there stole 2 of the bikes (Peter H's and one belonging to a lady from the Fairifield group, who had stayed there after the 9pm show). The bikes weren't locked....They were on the ground less than 10 metres from where we were standing. I saw the second one go, but couldn't catch the guy. He'd disappeared by the time the others mounted their bikes to give chase. Peter had his wallet & keys in a bag on the bike, but fortunately got them back this afternoon (handed in to Wetherill Park Police). We did a bit of a search of the Park and surrounds last night and again this morning but to no avail. At the moment Peter is nominally mobile using my old bike. In hindsight, we could have done a number of things differently....

madame bike ; love your work! interested in v8 supercar issue. i have contacts in motor racing & wouldd be happy to help lobbying macquarie st. to stop this nonsense. OK ; hear me out . there are a number of touring car facilities crying out for new investment for facilities upgrades. the concept of letting these old tracks fall by the wayside whilst injecting massive amounts of taxpayers money into new facilities in order to provide the tourism bureau of a bankrupt NSW government with an aesthetically pleasing new fad is preposterous. not to mention the enviromental/resident's impact. remember 2000 olympics,APEC,WYD. trash the ecosytem with (empty) promises of economic stimulus via tourism $ !!??! enough is enough. people gotta rise up !!!

thanks for the (segway) thread. happy to help.will make some calls & hopefully this will lead to some harmony between resident's action groups & industry ; it;s a long-shot but sometimes you've gotta take a punt when you're dealing with a corrupt & incompetent administration(especially once the aforementioned start clutching at straws!!) meanwhile , macquarie st. it is! watch this space. {for those of you too cool to be still listening , this could be a symbolic victory for kids on bikes} hmmmm.....;a long resounding hmmm...!!!

Thanks Madame, until the fat lady sings - with you on that one; My brother inlaw races himself , I don't have anything against the sport myself, yet what is happening is really saddening;

Appreciate the update on where things are

yeah g'day! sorry , a while between drinks , but rev-heads take time. unfortunately , said starved facilities have been spooked by big auto-biz. can't say too much , but if they make noise they lose sponsorship they need to stay afloat meanwhile.macquarie st. is complicit in this ; make no mistake(clutching at straws , etc;) this message will explode in 10...9..8...7.....you get the idea!!

I don't know Weiyun's surname and I'd lay odds that he doesn't know mine. This means what?
What Weiyun wrote and what has been inferred in those words are very different things.

Perhaps this will refresh your memory.

Geoff and Marion, I have no problem telling you who I am - most people on Sydney Cyclist know me anyway. My name is Leigh Gibbens, I worked for BNSW and was the Event Planning and Operations Coordinator for the 2007 RTA NSW Big RIde and also the Route manager on that ride.

Most people have two names. What is Weiyun's other name and why does he set himself up as an apologist for BNSW's shortcomings and the errors in judgement of the NSW Sate Government?

Enjoy yourself.
There's a great cafe at Ballina, right on the beach that's worth going to on the way back. The local tourist info will know ho to et there.
