Unusual saddles, in that:
1. Made in a "developed" country
2. Hand made
3. Made out of cow hide

What they didn't say was that the reason cyclists took the leather saddle from one bike to another, is because leather saddles had to be "broken in" over time, and they didn't want the pain and suffering of breaking in another one.

I think the softer synthetics are more practical.

Yes I have to admit that I haven't gone down the Brooks path for exactly that reason. Even though I really like the idea of having a saddle for life (the one on my commute bike has about 6 months life left if I'm lucky) I can't quite bring myself to invest in a couple of weeks of uncomfortable riding.

What are other people's experience with Brooks? Are they worth it?
